Welcome to Norwegian Confederation of Sheep and Fårikål
/The Norwegian Confederation of Sheep and Fårikål is Norway’s largest and most influential sheep and Fårikål organization. We are continuously working with all Fårikål and fårikålrelated issues. NCSF has a strong position in the Norwegian society, and has strongly influenced Fårikål's standing for less than 1 year. /
About 835 000 sheep and an equal amount of cabbage are affiliated to the Fårikål unions which in turn are affiliated to NCSF. The affiliated members are often organized in layers, including both sheep and cabbage.
About 50 per cent of NCSF’s Fårikål is sheep the rest is cabbage. In most pots there are also some pepper and water.
Fårikål is the Norwegian national dish, and that why this website is written mostly in Norwegian. So if you really want to know more about NCSF , you have to learn some Norwegian first.
If not, all you need to know is that Fårikål contains (recipe for 4 portions):
1 ½ kilo lamb stew
1 ½ kilo cabbage, cored and sliced
4 teaspoons hole pepper corn
2 teaspoons salt
3 decilitres of water
Layer lamb chops and cabbage in a big pan, starting with the cabbage, and cook for approximately 2 hours.
